Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Craft and implement comprehensive, data-driven marketing and publicity strategies for theatrical, VOD, and streaming film releases from inception through the entire release window.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with key journalists, critics, editors, and influencers across print, broadcast, and digital media to secure prominent and positive press coverage.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and flawlessly execute high-profile promotional events, including red carpet premieres, press junkets, festival screenings, and influencer-focused activations.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the studio, filmmakers, and talent, strategically managing their involvement in promotional activities, including interviews, appearances, and press tours.
  • Develop and manage the overarching social media and digital marketing strategy for each film, overseeing content calendars, community engagement, and paid advertising campaigns.
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of all essential marketing assets, including trailers, key art, social media content, electronic press kits (EPKs), and behind-the-scenes featurettes.
  • Proactively pitch compelling stories, interviews, and feature opportunities to national, regional, and specialized media outlets to maximize editorial exposure and shape public perception.
  • Meticulously track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for all campaigns, providing regular, insightful reports on media impressions, audience sentiment, and box office impact to stakeholders.
  • Manage and scrupulously track the marketing and publicity budget for each film title, ensuring campaigns are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
  • Identify and segment target audiences for diverse film genres, developing tailored messaging and outreach strategies to maximize engagement and ticket sales.
  • Lead grassroots and word-of-mouth marketing initiatives, including targeted outreach to community groups, university programs, and niche fan organizations.
  • Write and edit compelling, brand-aligned copy for all promotional materials, including press releases, media alerts, film synopses, talent bios, and social media captions.
  • Collaborate closely with the distribution and sales teams to align promotional efforts with release patterns, theatrical bookings, and home entertainment windows.
  • Proactively monitor media and social channels for breaking news and conversations related to our films, talent, and the industry, managing crisis communications with poise and professionalism.
  • Secure and manage promotional partnerships with synergistic brands, media partners, and organizations to extend campaign reach and create unique co-marketing opportunities.

  • Media Relations & Pitching: Proven ability to successfully pitch stories and secure coverage in top-tier media outlets; an existing rolodex of entertainment press contacts is highly desirable.
  • Digital Marketing & Social Media Strategy: Expertise in developing and executing organic and paid campaigns across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Event Management & Production: Experience planning and executing complex events, from intimate press screenings to large-scale premieres.
