Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Act as a key finance partner to business unit leaders, providing financial guidance and decision support to help them achieve their operational and strategic objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and improve complex financial models for budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and various ad-hoc scenarios.
- Conduct detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual variance analysis of financial results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, providing insightful commentary on key business drivers.
- Design, automate, and maintain impactful financial reports and business intelligence dashboards (using tools like Tableau or Power BI) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Drive the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes, collaborating with departments across the organization to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Perform deep-dive ad-hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, M&A activities, and other business-critical inquiries from leadership.
- Utilize SQL and other data querying tools to extract, manipulate, and analyze large, complex datasets from various financial and operational systems to uncover trends and support analytical projects.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for finance-related IT projects, system enhancements, and reporting needs, effectively translating business needs into technical specifications for development teams.
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and systems to increase efficiency, enhance accuracy, and improve scalability across the organization.
- Prepare and present clear, concise financial analysis, reports, and data-driven recommendations to diverse audiences, including senior executives and non-financial stakeholders.
- Partner with the accounting team during the month-end close process to ensure the accuracy of financial data, understand accruals, and explain period-over-period fluctuations.
- Evaluate capital investment (CapEx) proposals by building robust ROI models, payback period analyses, and NPV calculations to support capital allocation decisions.
- Analyze product/service line profitability, customer profitability, and pricing structures to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and margin improvement.
- Act as a finance subject matter expert (SME) on cross-functional projects, particularly those involving the implementation or upgrade of ERP, EPM, or other financial systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive business cases for new initiatives, quantifying the potential financial impacts, risks, and benefits to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data by developing data validation processes and reconciling information between source systems and reporting platforms.
- Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitor performance, and macroeconomic factors to inform strategic planning and enrich forecasting models.
- Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting models to ensure liquidity and support effective treasury management.
- Create and maintain thorough documentation for financial models, reporting procedures, and analytical methodologies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Provide training and support to business users on financial systems, analytical tools, and reporting best practices to foster a data-driven culture.
