Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with new and existing clients to conduct in-depth financial needs assessments, uncovering their short-term needs and long-term aspirations.
  • Educate clients on a diverse portfolio of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs), personal loans, mortgages, and retirement plans (IRAs, 401(k)s).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all client inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional resolution to issues related to account balances, transactions, and service features.
  • Analyze client financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to evaluate risk and determine eligibility for various loan and credit products.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of opening, maintaining, and closing client accounts, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective clients through strategic networking, community involvement, and generating referrals from a base of satisfied customers.
  • Consistently meet and exceed established sales, referral, and client satisfaction goals by identifying cross-selling and up-selling opportunities tailored to client needs.
  • Execute a variety of client-directed financial transactions, such as fund transfers, wire initiations, and stop payments, with a high degree of accuracy and adherence to security protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners, including financial advisors, mortgage specialists, and business bankers, to deliver comprehensive and holistic financial solutions.
  • Schedule and conduct regular client portfolio reviews to discuss financial performance, re-evaluate goals in light of life changes, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain an expert-level knowledge of current market trends, economic conditions, and evolving financial regulations (e.g., BSA, KYC, AML) to provide informed and relevant advice.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial proposals and plans to clients in a clear, compelling, and understandable manner, ensuring they are fully empowered to make confident decisions.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to meticulously document all client interactions, track sales activities, and manage a schedule of follow-up communications.
  • Assist clients with navigating and utilizing digital banking platforms, mobile applications, and other self-service technologies to enhance their overall banking experience.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential client information with the utmost discretion and integrity, adhering strictly to all privacy and data security policies.
  • Resolve complex client complaints and escalations with empathy and efficiency, working diligently to retain client loyalty and transform negative experiences into positive ones.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development and training programs to stay current on new products, advanced sales techniques, and compliance requirements.
  • Process consumer loan applications from initial intake through to funding, gathering all necessary documentation and liaising with underwriting departments to ensure a smooth process.
  • Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local banking regulations and company policies, ensuring every client interaction and transaction is fully compliant.
  • Support branch operational tasks and administrative duties as needed to contribute to a smooth, secure, and efficient workflow for the entire team.

  • Participate in community outreach programs and financial literacy workshops to promote brand awareness and educate the public.
  • Assist in the training, onboarding, and mentoring of new team members and junior representatives.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • CRM Software Proficiency: Experience with systems like Salesforce, or other industry-specific CRM platforms.
  • Financial Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of a wide range of banking products (deposits, credit, loans) and services.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with key financial regulations, including KYC (Know Your Customer), AML (Anti-Money Laundering), and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Quantitative & Analytical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude for calculating interest, returns, and analyzing financial data.
  • Core Banking Systems: Experience navigating and operating core banking software for transactions and account management.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5 years of experience in financial services, banking, or a related client-facing sales role.
