Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct in-depth discovery meetings with new and existing clients to thoroughly understand their financial circumstances, life goals, risk tolerance, and investment objectives.
  • Develop, present, and implement customized, comprehensive financial plans that address areas such as retirement planning, investment management, education funding, insurance needs, and estate planning.
  • Proactively monitor client portfolios and financial plans, providing regular reviews and making strategic adjustments in response to changes in market conditions, tax laws, or client life events.
  • Utilize advanced financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) to create detailed models, projections, and what-if scenarios that illustrate potential outcomes for clients.
  • Build and cultivate a robust client base through professional networking, referrals, community involvement, and leveraging firm-provided marketing resources.
  • Educate clients on complex financial concepts, investment strategies, and economic trends in a clear, concise, and understandable manner to empower their decision-making.
  • Build deep, trust-based relationships with clients, serving as their primary point of contact and trusted advisor for all financial matters and significant life transitions.
  • Ensure all client interactions, recommendations, and transactions are meticulously documented and remain in strict compliance with all industry regulations (FINRA, SEC) and internal firm policies.
  • Collaborate with a team of internal and external specialists, including tax advisors (CPAs), estate attorneys, and insurance agents, to provide a holistic and integrated wealth management experience.
  • Analyze clients' existing insurance coverage (life, disability, long-term care) and recommend appropriate solutions to mitigate financial risks and protect their assets.
  • Provide sophisticated advice on tax-efficient investment strategies, asset allocation models, and optimal withdrawal strategies for clients in or nearing retirement.
  • Assist clients with complex estate planning needs, including wealth transfer strategies, trust implementation, and charitable giving, in coordination with their legal counsel.
  • Prepare and review detailed investment proposals and performance reports, clearly articulating the investment strategy, rationale, and results to clients.
  • Manage and service a dedicated book of business, ensuring exceptionally high levels of client satisfaction and retention through proactive, white-glove service.
  • Guide clients through major life events such as the sale of a business, inheritance, marriage, or divorce, providing steady and strategic financial counsel.
  • Perform ongoing due diligence on a wide array of investment vehicles, including mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments, to ensure they meet firm standards and client objectives.
  • Champion the firm's investment philosophy and service model, consistently delivering a high-quality, branded client experience that reinforces our value proposition.
  • Facilitate the account opening, asset transfer, and plan implementation process for new clients, ensuring a smooth and seamless onboarding experience.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships by recognizing needs for additional services such as lending, banking, or trust services offered by the firm or its partners.
  • Actively participate in business development activities, including hosting client seminars, writing thought leadership articles, and attending networking events to enhance brand visibility and attract ideal clients.

Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • CFP® (Certified Financial Plannerâ„¢) designation is highly preferred, or demonstrated progress toward completion.
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 & 65) licenses in good standing.
  • Financial Planning Software Proficiency: Deep experience with tools like eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or NaviPlan.
  • Investment & Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of asset allocation, portfolio construction, securities, and economic principles.
  • CRM Expertise: Proficiency in using CRM systems such as Salesforce, Redtail, or similar platforms to manage client relationships.
  • Analytical Modeling: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and creating custom reports.
  • Insurance Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses are typically required.
