Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Actively support Senior Financial Planners in all phases of the client service model, from initial prospecting and onboarding to ongoing relationship management and reviews.
  • Assist in the preparation and construction of comprehensive financial plans, including detailed analyses for retirement, insurance needs, education funding, and estate planning.
  • Participate directly in client meetings alongside senior advisors to observe, take detailed notes, and understand the nuances of client discovery, goal-setting, and strategy presentation.
  • Conduct in-depth research and due diligence on various financial products, including mutual funds, ETFs, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments, to support portfolio recommendations.
  • Prepare and process all necessary client paperwork for new account openings, asset transfers, and ongoing account maintenance with meticulous attention to detail and compliance standards.
  • Learn to operate and master industry-leading financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro) to create sophisticated financial models, projections, and client-facing reports.
  • Utilize the firm's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to meticulously track all client interactions, manage follow-up tasks, and maintain accurate and up-to-date client data.
  • Develop a foundational understanding of global financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and legislative changes that may impact client portfolios and financial wellness.
  • Shadow experienced advisors to learn effective communication techniques for articulating complex financial concepts in a clear, compelling, and understandable manner to diverse audiences.
  • Proactively schedule and prepare all necessary materials for client review meetings, ensuring all relevant performance reports, analyses, and planning documents are ready for presentation.
  • Handle inbound client service requests regarding account information, transaction status, and general inquiries, providing timely, professional, and high-quality service.
  • Diligently study for and successfully pass requisite industry licensing exams, such as the SIE, Series 7, and Series 66, within the company's designated timeframe.
  • Collaborate with the financial planning team to model various financial scenarios and "what-if" analyses to help clients visualize the long-term impact of their financial decisions.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of marketing materials and client communications, such as market commentaries, educational newsletters, and seminar content.
  • Perform detailed portfolio analysis, including asset allocation reviews and performance reporting, to help ensure investment strategies remain aligned with client goals and risk tolerance.
  • Engage fully in firm-sponsored training sessions, professional development workshops, and mentorship programs to accelerate industry knowledge and career growth.
  • Build and maintain a professional network within the firm and the broader financial services community to foster learning, collaboration, and future growth opportunities.
  • Adhere strictly to all industry regulations and firm compliance policies, ensuring all activities are conducted ethically, transparently, and in the client's best interest.
  • Support the team in identifying potential new clients and business development opportunities through market research, networking, and disciplined prospecting activities.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain client files and all related documentation, ensuring they are complete, current, and compliant with regulatory and firm standards.
  • Assist with the execution of trades and other investment transactions under the direct supervision of a licensed senior advisor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop tailored investment policy statements (IPS) based on client discovery, risk assessment, and long-term financial objectives.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis for internal team projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to the organization's client service model and operational efficiency roadmap by identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with adjacent business units, such as operations and compliance, to seamlessly resolve complex client issues and inquiries.

Required Skills & Competencies
