Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients, serving as their primary and trusted point of contact for all financial matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial needs analyses by gathering and evaluating clients' financial information, long-term goals, risk tolerance, and unique life circumstances.
  • Design, present, and implement customized, holistic financial plans that include integrated strategies for retirement planning, education funding, investment management, and insurance.
  • Proactively monitor and review client portfolios and financial plans on a consistent basis, making strategic adjustments in response to market changes, economic trends, and shifts in client goals.
  • Educate clients on complex financial concepts, investment products, and market dynamics in a clear and understandable manner to empower their decision-making.
  • Actively prospect and build a client base through dedicated networking, professional referrals, educational seminars, and deep community involvement to drive sustainable business growth.
  • Provide tailored investment advice and construct diversified, goal-oriented portfolios utilizing a wide range of financial products such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments.
  • Collaborate with a team of internal and external specialists (e.g., estate planning attorneys, tax professionals, mortgage bankers) to provide comprehensive wealth management solutions.
  • Maintain strict compliance with all industry regulations, firm policies, and ethical standards, including FINRA and SEC rules, to protect clients and the firm.
  • Prepare and present detailed performance reports and in-depth reviews to clients on a regular basis, clearly articulating portfolio strategy, results, and forward-looking guidance.
  • Analyze and recommend appropriate insurance and risk management solutions, including life, disability, and long-term care insurance, to protect clients' assets and legacy.
  • Stay current with evolving financial markets, global economic conditions, and new investment products through continuous education and rigorous professional development.
  • Utilize advanced CRM and financial planning software to maintain meticulous client records, track progress toward goals, and manage daily activities with high efficiency.
  • Guide clients through significant life events, such as retirement, inheritance, business sales, or job changes, providing steady financial counsel and adjusting their strategies accordingly.
  • Develop and execute a personal business plan and marketing strategy to achieve and exceed production targets and asset growth goals set by the firm.

Secondary Functions

  • Participate actively in team meetings, advanced training sessions, and professional development workshops to enhance skills and share best practices with colleagues.
  • Assist in the organization and delivery of client appreciation events and educational workshops to enhance client engagement and generate qualified leads.
  • Prepare and process all necessary account paperwork and client documentation accurately and in a timely manner to ensure smooth onboarding and transaction execution.
  • Mentor junior associates or support staff, providing guidance on firm processes, effective client interaction, and fundamental financial planning principles.
  • Contribute to the development of new client service models and innovative business development strategies within the local office or team.
  • Resolve client inquiries and issues promptly and professionally, coordinating with back-office operations and support teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Perform thorough due diligence on various investment products and third-party managers to ensure they are suitable and appropriate for client recommendations.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 (or Series 63 & 65) licenses are required.
  • State Life, Accident, & Health insurance licenses, or the ability to obtain them promptly.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software (e.g., eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, NaviPlan).
  • Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Redtail) for client and pipeline management.
  • Strong, practical understanding of investment vehicles, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and financial market principles.
  • Demonstrable financial modeling and analytical capabilities for creating client proposals and plans.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in any field, with a demonstrated and keen interest in finance, economics, or business.

Preferred Education:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of study.
