Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively develop and cultivate a robust client base through networking, referrals, community involvement, and strategic marketing efforts.
  • Conduct comprehensive, confidential financial needs analyses to fully understand a client's current financial situation, risk tolerance, and long-term objectives.
  • Design, present, and implement customized, comprehensive financial plans to help clients achieve their goals, including retirement, education funding, and wealth accumulation.
  • Provide expert recommendations and education on a wide array of financial solutions, including life insurance, disability income insurance, long-term care insurance, annuities, and investment products.
  • Build and manage diversified investment portfolios, aligning asset allocation with each client's unique risk profile and time horizon.
  • Conduct regular, proactive client review meetings to monitor financial progress, review portfolio performance, and make necessary adjustments to strategies based on life events or market changes.
  • Master and effectively articulate complex financial and investment concepts in a clear, accessible manner to clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Maintain an unwavering commitment to ethical practices and fiduciary responsibility, always placing the client's best interests first.
  • Develop and expand a professional network of strategic partners, such as CPAs and estate planning attorneys, to provide a holistic service experience.
  • Guide clients through major life transitions, such as marriage, retirement, or inheritance, providing steadfast financial counsel and support.
  • Stay abreast of evolving market trends, economic conditions, new financial products, and changes in tax and estate laws to provide timely and relevant advice.
  • Utilize advanced financial planning software and CRM systems to manage client relationships, model financial scenarios, and track progress toward goals.
  • Prepare and present detailed proposals and strategic recommendations to prospective and existing clients.
  • Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting and initial contact to closing the business and establishing a long-term service relationship.
  • Achieve and exceed personal production targets and business development goals through disciplined activity and effective practice management.

Required Skills & Competencies

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • State Life & Health Insurance licenses (or willingness to obtain).
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 63 & 65) registrations (or willingness to obtain, with sponsorship).

Preferred Education:

  • Master's in Finance or Business Administration (MBA).
  • Professional designations such as CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), or Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®).

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5+ years in a professional environment. While direct financial services experience is a plus, a proven track record of success in sales, business development, or a client-facing role is highly valued.
