Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively develop and cultivate a robust client pipeline through strategic networking, professional referrals, community involvement, and targeted marketing efforts.
  • Conduct in-depth, confidential financial needs analyses with prospective and existing clients to comprehensively identify their financial goals, risk tolerance, and current situation.
  • Design, present, and implement customized financial strategies that address key areas such as retirement planning, wealth accumulation, education funding, and asset protection.
  • Educate clients on a diverse portfolio of financial and insurance products, including life insurance, disability income insurance, long-term care insurance, annuities, and various investment vehicles.
  • Guide clients through the entire application and underwriting process, ensuring a smooth and transparent experience from initial consultation to policy delivery and account setup.
  • Build and maintain enduring, trust-based relationships with a growing client base through regular communication, periodic portfolio reviews, and proactive, high-touch service.
  • Continuously monitor clients' financial progress and life events (e.g., marriage, new job, retirement) to make timely and appropriate adjustments to their financial plans.
  • Stay rigorously up-to-date with evolving market trends, economic conditions, new product developments, and legislative changes that may impact client portfolios.
  • Meet and exceed established production targets and business development goals through consistent, disciplined, and ethical sales activities.
  • Meticulously document all client interactions, transactions, and recommendations within the company's CRM system to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare clear, compelling, and compliant proposals, illustrations, and presentations to effectively articulate the value and benefits of recommended solutions.
  • Translate complex financial and insurance concepts into simple, understandable terms to empower clients to make confident and informed decisions about their future.
  • Collaborate with a team of specialists, including senior advisors, investment managers, and estate planning attorneys, to deliver holistic and sophisticated financial solutions.
  • Uphold the highest standards of professional ethics and fiduciary responsibility, ensuring strict adherence to all industry regulations and company policies (e.g., FINRA, SEC).
  • Actively engage in continuous professional development, including advanced designation programs (e.g., CFP®, ChFC®), to enhance expertise and credibility.

Secondary Functions

  • Support clients by efficiently handling service-related requests, such as beneficiary changes, policy updates, claim submissions, and fund transfers.

  • Maintain all required professional licenses and certifications (e.g., Life & Health, FINRA Series 6/7, Series 63/65) by completing necessary continuing education credits.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Active Life & Health Insurance license is required; ability to obtain FINRA Series 6/7 and 63/65/66 within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products including life insurance, annuities, mutual funds, and retirement plans (401k, IRA).
  • Proficiency with financial planning software (e.g., eMoney Advisor, MoneyGuidePro) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Ability to perform a comprehensive financial needs analysis (FNA) to identify client goals and gaps in coverage.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets, economic indicators, and fundamental investment principles.
  • Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for presentations and analysis.
