Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, manage and grow a targeted portfolio of clients by proactively identifying client needs, building trust-based relationships, and delivering tailored financial solutions to meet revenue and profitability targets.
  • Drive new client acquisition through strategic prospecting, network development, industry mapping, referrals, and lead conversion while maintaining a strong pipeline and forecasting accuracy.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial and credit assessments, including cash flow analysis, covenant review, credit memos and risk scoring to support lending decisions and ensure portfolio quality.
  • Cross-sell bank and investment products (lending, deposits, cash management, foreign exchange, trade finance, treasury, wealth management, insurance) to increase wallet share and diversify revenue streams.
  • Prepare and present well-structured proposals, pricing recommendations and product solutions to clients and internal approval committees, ensuring commercial viability and compliance with credit policies.
  • Maintain full ownership of client onboarding and KYC/AML requirements, coordinating with compliance and operations to complete due diligence, documentation, and account setup in a timely manner.
  • Build and execute account plans and relationship roadmaps that align client objectives with product capabilities, delivering measurable client outcomes and retention improvements.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, proactively identify signs of client stress or early warning indicators, and implement remediation or restructuring solutions to mitigate losses.
  • Serve as the primary client escalation point, resolving service, operational or product-related issues by mobilizing cross-functional teams and ensuring a high NPS and client satisfaction.
  • Negotiate commercial terms, fees and contractual agreements with clients, ensuring alignment with risk appetite, pricing strategy and profitability targets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records (e.g., Salesforce), pipeline activities, client interactions and opportunity stages to support forecasting and reporting.
  • Lead or participate in client review meetings, quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and board-level presentations to communicate portfolio health, strategic initiatives and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product, trading, research and investment teams to design bespoke solutions, structured financing or hedging strategies for complex client needs.
  • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, AML/KYC standards and audit recommendations; support periodic compliance reviews and remediation actions.
  • Mentor and coach junior relationship associates, providing on-the-job training in credit analysis, client engagement and product positioning to build bench strength.
  • Track market, industry and competitive dynamics; translate insights into proactive client outreach and solution development to capture new market share.
  • Drive digital adoption with clients, promoting e-banking, treasury platforms and electronic documentation to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
  • Prepare management reports, pipeline analyses and performance dashboards to measure attainment of sales targets, margin objectives and client retention KPIs.
  • Support the development and pricing of complex structured products, syndications or multi-bank financing arrangements by coordinating internal stakeholders and external counsel.
  • Lead or contribute to RFP responses, tenders and pitch books for strategic clients and enterprise opportunities, ensuring compelling value propositions and clear differentiation.
  • Manage onboarding, billing and service-level agreements with external partners, custodians and vendors to ensure seamless client execution and minimized operational risk.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth while maintaining portfolio credit quality through disciplined underwriting, proactive risk monitoring and targeted client remediation strategies.
  • Advocate for clients within the firm by influencing product roadmaps and service enhancements based on recurring client feedback and evolving market demand.

Secondary Functions

  • Support internal projects to streamline onboarding, reduce turnaround times and enhance the client experience through process optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with data and analytics teams to define client segmentation, lifetime value models and prioritization frameworks that inform coverage strategy.
  • Assist in the development of training materials, playbooks and sales tools to standardize best practices across the relationship management team.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)
