Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Analyze and interpret complex financial statements, cash flow projections, and business plans to assess the creditworthiness and financial viability of potential borrowers or investment opportunities.
  • Develop sophisticated and dynamic financial models to support valuation, LBO, M&A, and capital budgeting decisions, providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Manage the end-to-end loan origination and underwriting process, from initial application and due diligence through credit approval and final closing.
  • Structure, negotiate, and execute a variety of financing solutions, including syndicated loans, revolving credit facilities, asset-based loans, and equipment financing.
  • Prepare comprehensive and persuasive credit memoranda, investment proposals, and presentations for review and approval by the credit committee and executive leadership.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on new transactions, including financial, operational, and market analysis, to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Actively monitor a portfolio of existing loans and investments, tracking performance against covenants, identifying early warning signs, and managing any required amendments or waivers.
  • Evaluate and recommend strategies to optimize the company's capital structure, balancing cost of capital, risk, and flexibility.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with a broad network of lending institutions, investment banks, private equity firms, and other capital providers.
  • Lead the negotiation of term sheets, credit agreements, and other legal documentation in close collaboration with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Ensure all financing activities and documentation are in strict compliance with internal corporate policies, governance standards, and external regulatory requirements like SOX.
  • Analyze macroeconomic trends, industry conditions, and capital market activity to inform financing strategy and identify new opportunities or risks.
  • Advise senior leadership and business unit heads on financing-related matters, providing expert guidance on debt capacity, funding options, and market timing.
  • Manage all lender reporting requirements, including the preparation and distribution of quarterly compliance certificates and financial statements.
  • Oversee the execution of interest rate and foreign exchange hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks associated with the company's debt portfolio.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the corporate treasury team with cash forecasting, liquidity management, and daily cash positioning activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and analyses for board of directors meetings and investor relations communications.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team during the annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning process.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management to support strategic initiatives.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Participate in the integration of financing and treasury functions for newly acquired businesses.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Financial Modeling: Advanced proficiency in building complex, three-statement financial models, DCF, LBO, and sensitivity analyses from scratch.
  • Credit Analysis: Deep expertise in evaluating credit risk, analyzing financial statements, and assessing the strength of commercial borrowers.
  • Advanced Excel: Expert-level skills in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization.
  • Financial & ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Capital IQ).
  • Due Diligence: Proven ability to conduct comprehensive financial and operational due diligence for debt financing or M&A transactions.
  • GAAP/IFRS Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles to accurately interpret financial data.
  • Presentation Skills: Ability to create and deliver clear, concise, and compelling presentations using PowerPoint for senior and executive audiences.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Education:

  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are highly desirable.

Experience Requirements
