Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively engage with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and special occasions, guiding them through the selection process to drive sales and meet or exceed personal and store targets.
  • Develop and meticulously maintain a personal client book, cultivating long-term relationships through consistent, personalized follow-up, and strategic outreach for new arrivals, special events, and client milestones.
  • Master and articulate the brand's heritage, the intricate details of craftsmanship, and the unique story behind each piece of jewelry to create an emotional connection and enhance its perceived value.
  • Provide expert-level knowledge on diamonds (the 4Cs), colored gemstones, precious metals, and timepieces, acting as a trusted consultant to clients making significant purchases.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of bespoke and custom design orders, from initial client consultation and sketching to coordinating with artisans and ensuring final client approval and satisfaction.
  • Execute flawless sales transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system, handling high-value payments, and processing special orders, financing applications, and returns with precision and discretion.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed monthly and annual sales goals, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the boutique.
  • Artfully build and present curated selections of jewelry to clients, demonstrating how different pieces can be styled together to enhance their personal collection and drive multi-item sales.
  • Act as a brand ambassador both inside and outside the boutique, representing the company at client events, trunk shows, and community engagements to network and acquire new clients.
  • Handle all client inquiries, issues, and repair requests with empathy and efficiency, ensuring a resolution that upholds the brand's luxury service standards.
  • Meticulously follow all security procedures for handling, storing, and displaying high-value merchandise, including opening/closing the vault and managing showcase keys.
  • Assist in daily inventory management, including receiving new stock, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring all pieces are securely and accurately accounted for in the system.
  • Execute visual merchandising directives to maintain the aesthetic integrity of the showroom, ensuring displays are pristine, inviting, and showcase the jewelry to its best advantage.
  • Continuously stay informed on luxury market trends, competitor activities, and developments in gemology and watchmaking to maintain a competitive edge and provide clients with current, relevant advice.
  • Provide expert care and cleaning for showroom pieces and client-owned jewelry, advising on proper maintenance to preserve the beauty and longevity of their purchases.

Secondary Functions

  • Support the planning and execution of in-store events, private viewings, and clienteling initiatives.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new team members on product knowledge, sales techniques, and brand standards.
  • Collaborate with the management team to provide feedback on product performance, client desires, and market opportunities.
  • Manage after-sales service, including coordinating with workshops for repairs, resizing, and engraving, and ensuring timely communication with the client.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • POS & CRM Proficiency: Expertise in using modern Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and Client Relationship Management (CRM) software to manage sales and client data.
  • Gemological Knowledge: Strong understanding of the 4Cs (Cut, Color, Clarity, Carat) for diamonds, as well as knowledge of colored gemstones, precious metals, and basic watch functions. GIA certification is a significant asset.
  • Inventory Management: Familiarity with inventory control processes, including cycle counts, stock transfers, and receiving procedures in a high-value environment.
  • Visual Merchandising: Ability to implement and maintain luxury visual standards for product displays and overall boutique presentation.
  • Sales Reporting: Competency in tracking personal sales metrics and understanding sales reports to strategize for goal attainment.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 2-5+ years of proven sales experience.

Preferred: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a client-facing role within luxury retail, specifically in fine jewelry, high-end watches, or a comparable luxury goods sector. A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and building a loyal client base is essential.
