Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Directly supervise, train, and mentor a team of deckhands or farm technicians, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork throughout all harvesting operations.
- Oversee and coordinate the deployment, operation, and retrieval of all fishing gear (e.g., trawls, longlines, pots, seines) or aquaculture equipment, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.
- Enforce uncompromising adherence to all company, federal (USCG), and international (SOLAS) maritime safety regulations and environmental protection policies.
- Lead and document regular safety drills, including man-overboard, fire, and abandon ship procedures, to ensure the crew is fully prepared for any emergency.
