Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Actively circulate the fitness floor to engage with members, offer assistance, and ensure a positive and supportive community atmosphere.
- Provide clear and accurate demonstrations on the proper and safe usage of all cardiovascular and strength training equipment to members.
- Diligently monitor the fitness center environment to enforce facility rules and policies, ensuring a safe and respectful space for all patrons.
- Execute a rigorous cleaning and sanitation schedule for all fitness equipment, locker rooms, and high-touch surfaces in accordance with health and safety protocols.
- Perform daily opening and closing procedures for the fitness facility, including equipment checks, tidying workout areas, and securing the premises.
- Serve as the primary point of contact at the fitness desk, warmly greeting and checking in members and guests using the facility's management software.
- Address member inquiries, questions, and concerns in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex issues to the Fitness Manager when necessary.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify and report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a neat and organized fitness floor by re-racking weights, returning equipment to its designated location, and organizing fitness accessories.
- Respond immediately and effectively to any medical emergencies or accidents, administering First Aid/CPR/AED as certified and completing detailed incident reports.
- Assist with membership inquiries, tours for prospective members, and the processing of new membership applications and renewals.
- Manage the scheduling and availability of fitness center amenities, such as courts, studios, or specialized equipment, ensuring fair access for all members.
- Restock towels, cleaning supplies, water stations, and other member amenities throughout the shift to ensure consistent availability.
- Provide basic fitness guidance and orientation to new members, explaining the layout of the facility and the available programs and services.
- Uphold a high level of personal and professional conduct, acting as a brand ambassador and a positive role model for health and wellness.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown for group fitness classes, workshops, and special events hosted within the fitness center.
- Monitor facility capacity and usage patterns, providing feedback to management to help optimize scheduling and member flow.
- Proactively build rapport with members to foster a sense of community and increase member retention and satisfaction.
- Ensure all signage, informational materials, and schedules are up-to-date, clearly visible, and accurately displayed throughout the facility.
- Manage lost and found items according to established procedures, logging items and assisting members in retrieving their belongings.
- Launder and fold facility towels, ensuring a constant supply of clean towels is available for member use.
- Educate members on proper fitness etiquette, such as wiping down equipment after use and allowing others to work in between sets.
Secondary Functions

Required Skills & Competencies
Hard Skills (Technical)
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (must be current or obtained shortly after hire).

- Understanding of fundamental exercise science, kinesiology, and safe workout principles.

Experience Requirements
