Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Proactively greet and engage with every customer, creating a welcoming and positive shopping environment.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, demonstrating exceptional knowledge of products, brand history, and current promotions.
  • Drive sales by actively listening to customer needs and providing personalized recommendations and styling advice.
  • Efficiently and accurately operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system to process transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships by providing outstanding service and capturing customer information for loyalty programs.
  • Confidently speak to product features, benefits, and warranties to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Manage fitting rooms by assisting customers, maintaining cleanliness, and returning merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales goals and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as set by management.
  • Inform customers about ongoing promotions, special events, and the benefits of our store credit card or loyalty program.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and empathy, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of loss prevention tactics and asset protection standards to minimize shrink.

Secondary Functions

  • Assist in the execution of visual merchandising directives, including setting up displays and ensuring product presentation standards are met.
  • Participate in regular inventory management activities, such as cycle counts, stock audits, and organizing the stockroom.
  • Unpack, process, and ticket new merchandise shipments efficiently and accurately to ensure products are floor-ready.
  • Execute merchandise replenishment from the stockroom to the sales floor to maintain optimal inventory levels and a full appearance.
  • Ensure the sales floor, fitting rooms, and cash wrap areas are kept clean, organized, and safe for all customers and staff.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, training sessions, and product knowledge seminars to stay current.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve store objectives and support a cooperative and positive work environment.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, cleaning, and securing the store.
  • Support online order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment or in-store pickup.
  • Provide constructive feedback to management regarding customer preferences, product performance, and operational challenges.

  • Point-of-Sale (POS) System Operation: Experience processing transactions on retail POS software.
  • Cash Handling: Accuracy in managing cash, credit, and gift card transactions and balancing a cash drawer.
  • Basic Math Skills: Competency in performing quick calculations for discounts, taxes, and change.
  • Inventory Management: Familiarity with handheld scanners (RF guns) and inventory control procedures.
  • Visual Merchandising: Ability to follow planograms and create aesthetically pleasing product displays.
