Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Design and construct a wide array of high-quality floral arrangements, including hand-tied bouquets, vase arrangements, centerpieces, corsages, and boutonnieres, for daily orders, special events, and peak holiday seasons.
- Conduct thorough consultations with clients for weddings, funerals, and corporate events to understand their vision, theme, and budget, providing expert guidance on flower selection, design concepts, and color palettes.
- Meticulously process incoming shipments of fresh flowers and greenery, including properly cutting stems, conditioning, and storing them in coolers to maximize vase life and ensure optimal quality.
- Manage the end-to-end order fulfillment process, from receiving orders via phone, online, or in-person to ensuring accurate and timely creation and delivery.
- Provide a superior customer service experience by warmly greeting clients, actively listening to their needs, and offering knowledgeable advice on floral products, plant care, and gift options.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to efficiently process customer transactions, manage order details, and look up customer history.
- Maintain a deep and current knowledge base of flower and plant varieties, including seasonality, availability, and specific care requirements for each species.
- Conceptualize and execute visually stunning floral and plant displays for the retail floor, windows, and special promotions to drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Monitor inventory levels of fresh flowers, plants, vases, ribbons, foam, and other essential supplies, assisting with reordering to prevent shortages.
- Accurately price arrangements and other floral products based on established formulas, considering the cost of goods, labor, and perceived market value.
- Uphold the cleanliness, organization, and safety standards of the design studio, walk-in coolers, and retail sales floor at all times.
- Stay informed of the latest industry trends, new design techniques, and innovative floral mechanics by following industry publications, attending workshops, and engaging with the design community.
- Assist with the on-site setup and breakdown of floral installations for large events, which may require working weekends, evenings, and outside of standard business hours.
- Create bespoke, one-of-a-kind arrangements by interpreting client requests and inspirations, translating abstract ideas into beautiful, tangible floral art.
- Prepare and attach enclosure cards, care instructions, and branded materials to all arrangements, ensuring a professional and polished final presentation.
Secondary Functions
