Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their vision, style preferences, and budget for events such as weddings, corporate functions, and private parties.
- Develop and present detailed floral design proposals, including mood boards, flower selections, and comprehensive cost estimates, to effectively communicate the design concept and secure client contracts.
- Design and create a wide range of custom floral arrangements, including bridal bouquets, large-scale installations, centerpieces, and personal flowers, that align with the client's vision and event theme.
- Provide expert advice and education to clients on flower seasonality, color palettes, longevity, and appropriate floral choices for various settings and climates.
- Manage the entire client lifecycle from initial inquiry and consultation through to event execution and post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and high-touch customer experience.
- Source and procure high-quality flowers, foliage, and supplies from wholesalers, growers, and local markets, while managing vendor relationships and negotiating favorable pricing.
- Oversee all logistical aspects of event floristry, including coordinating delivery schedules, managing on-site setup teams, and ensuring flawless installation of all floral elements.
- Maintain a comprehensive and current understanding of emerging trends in floral design, event decor, and wedding styling to provide innovative and modern solutions.
- Manage individual project budgets effectively, meticulously tracking expenses, processing client payments, and ensuring profitability on all events and orders.
- Collaborate closely with other event professionals, including planners, venues, photographers, and caterers, to ensure a cohesive and well-executed event design.
- Lead on-site floral installations, which may include technically demanding structures like arches, hanging arrangements, and elaborate tablescapes, requiring precision and a keen eye for detail.
- Implement proper processing and conditioning of fresh flowers and foliage upon arrival to maximize freshness and vase life, applying expert care and handling techniques.
- Maintain a highly organized and clean studio environment, ensuring all tools, supplies, and perishable products are properly stored, maintained, and accounted for.
- Create and manage detailed production timelines and floral "recipes" for each event to ensure all arrangements are created efficiently, consistently, and to the highest standard.
- Drive sales and business development by actively networking, responding promptly to leads, and nurturing relationships with potential and existing clients to build a strong pipeline.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all stages, proactively addressing client concerns and making adjustments as needed to guarantee complete satisfaction.
- Conceptualize and execute visual merchandising for a retail storefront or studio space, creating attractive displays that drive walk-in sales and showcase design capabilities.
