Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute a wide array of high-quality custom floral arrangements, including bouquets, centerpieces, wreaths, and large-scale installations, tailored to specific client needs, occasions, and budgets.
  • Conduct in-depth consultations with clients for weddings, corporate events, and special occasions to understand their vision, theme, and preferences, providing expert guidance on flower selection, color palettes, and design styles.
  • Develop detailed design proposals and quotes for clients, effectively communicating the creative vision and cost breakdown to secure event contracts and special orders.
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of floral inventory, including sourcing and ordering fresh flowers, plants, and hard goods from wholesalers and growers, while monitoring for quality, freshness, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Process incoming flower and plant shipments, which involves properly cutting stems, hydrating, conditioning, and storing botanicals to maximize vase life and ensure peak condition.
  • Maintain a pristine, organized, and aesthetically pleasing work station and retail environment, contributing to an inspiring and welcoming atmosphere for both clients and the team.
  • Provide exceptional, white-glove customer service by greeting clients, answering inquiries, taking orders (in-person, online, and via phone), and offering knowledgeable advice on plant and flower care.
  • Accurately price arrangements, bouquets, and other floral products, calculating costs of goods, labor, and overhead to maintain healthy profit margins.
  • Coordinate and execute the logistics for event setups, including safe transportation, on-site installation of floral decor, and timely teardown, often requiring work outside of standard business hours.
  • Stay current with emerging floral design trends, new flower varieties, sustainable practices, and innovative techniques to continuously elevate the company's design offerings.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and other order management software to process transactions, track orders, manage client information, and generate sales reports.
  • Assist in visual merchandising for the retail shop, including creating captivating window displays and in-store arrangements to drive foot traffic and promote specific products.
  • Create and maintain a compelling, up-to-date digital portfolio of design work to showcase capabilities to prospective clients across social media and the company website.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with event planners, venue managers, and other vendors to ensure a cohesive and flawlessly executed event for the client.
  • Manage time and workflow efficiently to prioritize and complete multiple orders and projects simultaneously, especially during peak seasons like holidays and wedding season.
  • Prepare and package floral arrangements for delivery, ensuring they are secure and hydrated to withstand transport and arrive in perfect condition.
  • Educate customers on proper care techniques for their flowers and plants to extend their beauty and lifespan, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Handle any customer concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, working diligently to find a satisfactory resolution that upholds the company's reputation.
  • Maintain all design tools, coolers, vases, and equipment, ensuring they are clean, sanitized, and in excellent working order to uphold quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in planning and potentially leading in-store workshops or community classes on floral design, sharing your passion and expertise to engage customers.
  • Proactively manage waste and spoilage through careful inventory rotation and creative use of materials, contributing to the studio's sustainability and profitability goals.

  • Advanced Floral Design Technique: Proficiency in various design styles (e.g., garden-style, modern, classic) and mechanics, including hand-tied bouquets, foam-based arrangements, wiring, and large-scale installation work.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
