Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Set up and break down a professional and eye-catching demonstration cart or table, ensuring all marketing materials and products are displayed according to brand standards.
  • Expertly prepare and present food and beverage samples using equipment like microwaves, induction cooktops, or blenders, while adhering to the highest food safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Proactively engage with shoppers in a friendly, energetic, and professional manner to attract them to the demonstration and create a positive brand interaction.
  • Articulately communicate product features, benefits, ingredients, and usage suggestions to customers, answering their questions with confidence and accuracy.
  • Drive sales by effectively converting interested customers into purchasers, often guiding them to the product's location on the store shelf.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station throughout the entire demonstration, ensuring compliance with both store and health department regulations.
  • Manage on-site inventory of products and supplies, ensuring you are adequately stocked for the duration of the event and communicating any shortages.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with store managers and department staff to ensure seamless event execution and future opportunities.
  • Memorize and deliver key brand talking points and promotional messaging to ensure consistent and effective communication with consumers.
  • Operate a tablet or mobile device to accurately track and report key metrics such as customer interactions, samples distributed, units sold, and consumer feedback.
  • Create a memorable and entertaining experience for shoppers of all ages, adapting your approach to connect with diverse customer demographics.
  • Handle the responsible serving of samples, including checking identification for age-restricted products if applicable.
  • Independently manage your time and workflow during shifts to maximize customer engagement and sales opportunities.
  • Transport event equipment and supplies to and from various retail locations, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to lift and carry materials.
  • Conduct post-event reporting in a timely manner, providing detailed insights and qualitative feedback to the management team.
  • Adhere to a professional dress code and grooming standards to positively represent the brand at all times.

Secondary Functions

  • Capture and report key performance indicators, including number of samples distributed, customer interactions, and units sold.
  • Provide valuable feedback to marketing and sales teams on customer reactions, product suggestions, and observed competitor activity.
  • Coordinate with store management and department staff to ensure smooth demonstration execution, including station placement and inventory access.
  • Attend pre-event briefings and virtual training sessions to thoroughly understand brand messaging, product features, and promotional goals.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Food Safety & Handling: Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, and temperature control. Food Handler's certification (e.g., ServSafe) is often required or preferred.
  • Basic Culinary Skills: Ability to follow recipes, use small kitchen appliances (microwaves, blenders, hot plates), and present food appealingly.
  • Sales Reporting: Experience with using mobile apps or software to track sales, inventory, and customer interaction data.
  • Point-of-Sale (POS) Operation: Basic understanding of how to use retail cash registers or mobile payment systems, if required for the role.
  • Visual Merchandising: Skill in arranging products and promotional materials in a visually appealing way to attract customers.
  • Inventory Management: Ability to track product stock levels and supplies to prevent shortages during a demonstration.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:
