Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Operate the food truck safely, including driving to and from various locations, events, and commissaries.
- Execute all menu items with precision and consistency, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Manage all food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating proteins, in adherence to recipes.
- Provide a positive, friendly, and efficient customer service experience from order taking to payment processing.
- Handle all sales transactions accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system, including cash, credit, and mobile payments.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of the truck's interior and exterior, including all cooking surfaces and equipment.
- Conduct daily and weekly inventory counts of food, beverages, and supplies, and assist in placing orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Perform daily opening and closing duties, which include starting up equipment, prepping service stations, and end-of-day deep cleaning and restocking.
- Strictly adhere to all health department regulations and food safety standards (HACCP, ServSafe), including maintaining temperature logs for all perishable items.
- Skillfully manage high-volume service periods, ensuring order accuracy and minimizing customer wait times.
- Set up and break down the service window and any external customer areas (signage, trash receptacles) at each location.
- Manage on-board resources like water, propane, and generator fuel, ensuring the truck is fully prepared for a complete service day.
- Expertly explain menu items to customers, making recommendations and clearly communicating information about ingredients and potential allergens.
Secondary Functions
- Collaborate with management or ownership on menu development, testing new recipes, and providing feedback on menu item performance and customer preferences.
- Assist in scouting, vetting, and scheduling new locations and public or private events to maximize sales and brand exposure.
- Contribute to the truck's social media presence by providing photos or updates about daily locations, specials, and events.
- Perform basic and preventative maintenance on truck equipment and systems; troubleshoot and resolve minor operational issues as they arise.
- Train and mentor new team members on operational procedures, recipes, and customer service standards.
- Professionally handle customer feedback, concerns, and complaints, striving to find a satisfactory resolution.
- Complete daily administrative tasks, including sales reports, cash drawer reconciliation, and tip-out calculations.

- Food Safety Certification: A current ServSafe Food Handler or Manager certification is required.
