Primary Functions

- Perform forestland appraisals and financial valuations for acquisitions, dispositions, estate planning, conservation easements, and litigation support, applying sound financial and forestry principles.
- Advise clients on emerging ecosystem service markets, particularly forest carbon projects, including conducting feasibility analyses, quantifying carbon stocks, and navigating verification and registration processes.
- Develop and execute prescribed burn plans to achieve specific land management objectives such as fuel load reduction, habitat improvement, and restoration of fire-dependent ecosystems, ensuring all safety and regulatory protocols are met.
- Assess forest health conditions, accurately identifying and diagnosing threats from insects, diseases, and invasive species, and prescribing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for mitigation.
- Ensure all forestry activities are in strict compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and state-specific Forest Practices Acts.
- Prepare and manage detailed project budgets, meticulously tracking expenses and revenues to ensure operational efficiency and deliver a strong return on investment for the client.
- Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships through proactive and transparent communication, delivering clear reports, and serving as the primary trusted advisor on all matters concerning their forest assets.
- Conduct thorough due diligence for timberland investment opportunities, assessing biological growth potential, market conditions, operational risks, and long-term financial projections.
