Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, test, and deploy proprietary trading strategies across major, minor, and exotic currency pairs, utilizing both technical and fundamental analysis.
  • Execute foreign exchange spot, forward, and swap transactions within established risk parameters and trading limits to generate profit.
  • Continuously monitor global macroeconomic data releases, central bank monetary policy statements, and geopolitical events to inform real-time trading decisions.
  • Apply rigorous risk management protocols to all trading activities, including setting and managing stop-loss and take-profit levels to protect capital.
  • Conduct in-depth technical analysis using advanced charting tools, indicators (e.g., RSI, MACD, Bollinger Bands), and price action to identify high-probability entry and exit points.
  • Maintain a meticulous and detailed trading journal, documenting the rationale, execution details, and performance outcomes for every trade to facilitate review and strategy refinement.
  • Analyze market microstructure and order flow dynamics to gain a competitive edge and optimize trade execution.
  • Manage and actively optimize a currency portfolio, balancing risk concentration and diversification to meet the firm's strategic objectives.
  • Formulate a clear and defensible market view on various currency pairs, supported by robust quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Present trading strategies, performance reports, and market outlooks to senior management and the investment committee.
  • Collaborate with quantitative analysts and developers to design, backtest, and improve algorithmic trading models and execution systems.
  • Stay at the forefront of financial market trends, new derivative products, and emerging technologies relevant to FX trading.
  • Perform comprehensive post-trade analysis to evaluate strategy effectiveness, identify slippage, and discover areas for systematic improvement.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with liquidity providers and interbank counterparties to ensure access to optimal pricing and execution.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and stress testing on the trading portfolio to quantify and prepare for potential adverse market events.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Trading Platform Proficiency: Expertise in professional trading platforms such as MetaTrader (MT4/MT5), cTrader, Interactive Brokers TWS, or proprietary bank systems.
  • Quantitative & Statistical Analysis: Strong ability to perform statistical analysis, backtesting, and quantitative modeling; proficiency in tools like MATLAB or R is a plus.
  • Programming & Scripting: Knowledge of Python for data analysis and strategy automation; familiarity with MQL4/5 for expert advisors is highly desirable.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
