Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Perform advanced diagnostics on a wide variety of commercial and residential refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, reach-in units, ice machines, and display cases, to accurately identify malfunctions.
- Execute complex repairs involving sealed systems, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and other critical components to restore equipment to optimal functionality.
- Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance services, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, calibrating thermostats, and inspecting electrical connections to prevent future breakdowns.

- Advise clients on equipment upgrades, replacements, and energy-saving opportunities to enhance their system's performance and longevity.

Required Skills & Competencies

- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification: Mandatory certification for handling and purchasing refrigerants.
- Sealed System Expertise: Proven ability to diagnose and repair sealed refrigeration systems, including compressor replacement and refrigerant line repairs.
- Electrical Schematics Interpretation: Proficiency in reading and understanding complex wiring diagrams and electrical blueprints for troubleshooting.
- Brazing & Soldering: High level of skill in joining copper and other metals to create leak-proof connections.
- Diagnostic Tool Proficiency: Competent use of multimeters, clamp-on ammeters, manifold gauges, leak detectors, and other diagnostic equipment.
