Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct comprehensive, end-to-end due diligence on potential investment opportunities, covering market analysis, competitive positioning, technology assessment, financial performance, and management team evaluation.
- Develop intricate and dynamic financial models (including LBO, DCF, returns analysis, and valuation models) to support investment theses and structuring decisions.
- Author and present detailed investment memorandums and presentations for the Investment Committee, clearly articulating the investment thesis, key drivers, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Actively source and screen new investment opportunities by building and maintaining a robust network of entrepreneurs, industry experts, investment bankers, and other intermediaries.
- Perform deep-dive industry research and thematic analysis to identify emerging trends, new market segments, and proactive investment targets.
- Provide direct, hands-on support to portfolio companies, assisting with strategic initiatives, financial planning, operational improvements, and add-on acquisitions.
- Play a key role in deal execution, coordinating with legal counsel, accountants, and other third-party advisors from term sheet negotiation through to closing.
- Monitor the financial and operational performance of existing portfolio companies, preparing regular updates and performance reviews for senior partners.
- Build and foster strong relationships with the management teams of both potential and existing portfolio companies, acting as a trusted partner.
- Assist in evaluating and executing exit strategies for portfolio companies, including strategic sales (M&A), secondary offerings, or Initial Public Offerings (IPOs).
- Participate in portfolio company board meetings as an observer or contributor, gaining exposure to high-level corporate governance and strategy.
- Lead the preparation of valuation analyses for portfolio companies to support internal fund reporting and external audit requirements.
- Conduct thorough customer and management reference calls to validate commercial assumptions and assess leadership capabilities.
Secondary Functions
- Support senior partners in fundraising activities, including the preparation of marketing materials, data rooms, and responses to Limited Partner (LP) due diligence requests.
- Contribute to the creation of quarterly and annual investor reports, providing clear and insightful updates on fund performance and portfolio developments.
- Manage and maintain the firm's CRM system and deal pipeline, ensuring all interactions and deal statuses are tracked accurately and efficiently.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and cultivate a strong professional network.
- Develop thought leadership content, such as white papers and market maps, on key industry verticals and investment themes.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing training on financial modeling, research techniques, and firm processes.
