Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Perform a full range of landscape maintenance duties, including planting, watering, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, and soil amendment to ensure optimal plant health and garden aesthetics.
Execute precision pruning of trees, shrubs, and perennials using various techniques to promote healthy growth, enhance flowering, and maintain desired structural form.
Identify common and uncommon plant pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies, and implement appropriate Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies for treatment and control.
Operate and provide routine maintenance for a variety of power and hand tools, including commercial mowers, string trimmers, edgers, blowers, chainsaws, and hedge trimmers.
Monitor, operate, and perform basic repairs on irrigation systems, adjusting schedules and components to ensure efficient water distribution and conservation.
Install new plant material, including trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals, according to horticultural best practices and design specifications.
Prepare planting beds through cultivation, grading, and the incorporation of soil amendments to create ideal growing conditions.
Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and accessibility of all assigned areas, including pathways, hardscapes, and garden features, by removing debris and hazards.
Proactively monitor the health and condition of all plant life within the assigned portfolio, reporting any significant issues or observations to management.
Safely and accurately apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with label instructions, safety data sheets (SDS), and state/federal regulations.
Conduct seasonal landscape tasks such as spring clean-up, fall leaf removal, and winterization of tender plants and irrigation systems.
Assist in the execution of small-scale landscape enhancement projects, including bed creation, plant division, and transplanting.
Manage invasive plant species through mechanical, cultural, or chemical control methods as appropriate for the site and species.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients, the public, and team members, providing information on horticultural practices when requested.
Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for yourself, your team, and the public.
Document all work performed, including materials used, treatments applied, and hours logged, using company software or manual logs.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with new horticultural techniques, plant varieties, and industry trends.
Perform deadheading, thinning, and grooming of plant material to encourage re-blooming and maintain a tidy appearance throughout the growing season.
Assist with snow and ice removal operations during winter months, as required by the specific property and contract.
Evaluate and report on the condition of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in safe and proper working order before each use.

Experience Requirements
