Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Diligently receive and process incoming stock and materials by unloading trucks and trailers, either manually or with equipment like pallet jacks, ensuring all items are handled with care.
- Perform meticulous quality checks on inbound shipments, verifying items against purchase orders and packing lists to confirm quantities, identify discrepancies, or note any damages.
- Utilize Radio Frequency (RF) scanning devices to accurately record the movement of inventory, including receiving, put-away, transfers, and picking, to maintain real-time system accuracy.
- Safely and efficiently transfer and store goods from receiving areas to their designated storage locations within the warehouse, following proper stacking and organizational procedures.
- Accurately pick customer orders from various warehouse locations (shelving, racking, bins) according to order tickets or scanner instructions, ensuring the correct product and quantity are selected.
- Prepare and pack orders for shipment, selecting the appropriate packing materials (boxes, bubble wrap, dunnage) to prevent damage during transit and ensure a professional presentation.
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to transport materials and orders throughout the facility in a safe and controlled manner.
- Build, wrap, and stage pallets for outbound shipment, ensuring they are stable, secure, and properly labeled for their destination.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, disposing of debris, and keeping aisles and workstations clear of hazards, in compliance with 5S principles.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, procedures, and OSHA regulations to prevent accidents and injuries to yourself and your colleagues.
- Conduct routine cycle counts and assist in periodic full physical inventory counts to help maintain precise inventory records and investigate discrepancies.
- Load outbound trucks, trailers, and containers, organizing shipments to maximize space and ensure safe transport to their final destination.
- Read and interpret work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine which items need to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Report any faulty equipment, safety hazards, or operational issues to the warehouse supervisor or team lead in a timely manner.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to accomplish daily operational goals and meet performance metrics for productivity and accuracy.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods, such as stenciling, labeling, or tagging, for easy identification.
- Assist in assembling customer orders from stock and placing orders on pallets or shelves, or conveying orders to the packing station or shipping department.
- Weigh or count items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards and order requirements.
- Flexibly move between different warehouse functions (e.g., receiving, picking, packing, shipping) as directed by leadership to support shifting operational needs.

- Pallet Jack Operation: Ability to safely operate both manual and electric pallet jacks for material transport.
- Basic Computer Literacy: Familiarity with using computer workstations to look up information, print labels, or interact with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) Experience: Basic understanding or prior experience working within a WMS environment.
- Basic Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for counting and verification purposes.
