Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Receiving and Unloading: Actively participate in unloading inbound shipments from trucks and containers, manually or with material handling equipment, and stage them for processing.
- Inbound Verification: Meticulously inspect incoming goods, verifying items and quantities against purchase orders or packing lists, and report any damages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Accurate Picking: Utilize a handheld RF (Radio Frequency) scanner or pick lists to navigate the warehouse and precisely locate and retrieve products for customer orders.
- Secure Packing: Prepare and pack customer orders for shipment, selecting appropriate-sized boxes and protective materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Order Staging and Shipping: Generate shipping labels, affix them to the correct packages, and stage completed orders in the designated outbound area for carrier pickup.
- Safe Loading: Efficiently and safely load outbound trucks, trailers, and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing of the load to prevent shifting.
- Inventory Put-Away: Accurately shelve and stock received inventory into its designated storage locations (bins, racks, or floor locations) using RF scanners to maintain system accuracy.
- Cycle Counting and Inventory Audits: Regularly perform cycle counts and assist in full physical inventory counts to ensure the accuracy of on-hand inventory records.
- Material Handling: Safely operate manual material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies to move inventory and supplies throughout the facility.
- Quality Control Checks: Conduct visual inspections of products during picking and packing processes to identify and isolate any defective or damaged items, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Order Consolidation: Skillfully combine items from multiple picking zones or storage areas to complete a single, multi-item customer order before the packing stage.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment: Proactively maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by keeping aisles clear, disposing of debris, and adhering to all established safety protocols (e.g., OSHA standards).
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) Interaction: Consistently use WMS software via handheld scanners or computer terminals to update the status of orders, inventory, and locations in real-time.
- Adherence to SOPs: Strictly follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse processes to ensure operational consistency, quality, and efficiency.
- Returns Processing (Reverse Logistics): Handle customer returns by inspecting the condition of the goods, processing them in the WMS, and routing them for restocking, refurbishment, or disposal.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operation: Experience safely operating manual pallet jacks and hand trucks. Experience with powered equipment (e.g., forklifts, walkie riders) is a significant plus.
