Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop, champion, and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies for assigned commodities to achieve measurable cost reductions and secure supply continuity.
  • Proactively identify, evaluate, and qualify new international suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence to assess their capabilities, financial stability, and ethical standards.
  • Lead complex and high-value negotiations for master supply agreements, pricing, payment terms, and service level agreements with a diverse global vendor base.
  • Manage the entire end-to-end procurement cycle (Procure-to-Pay), from creating and managing purchase orders to resolving discrepancies in invoicing and delivery.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze international market dynamics, commodity price trends, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical events to inform sourcing strategies and mitigate risks.
  • Design and implement robust risk mitigation frameworks for the global supply chain, including developing dual-sourcing strategies and contingency plans for critical components.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including Engineering, R&D, and Quality Assurance, to support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects and ensure seamless material integration.
  • Drive and document cost-saving initiatives through strategic negotiations, value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE), and process optimization projects.
  • Systematically manage and measure supplier performance through formal business reviews (QBRs), scorecards, and continuous improvement programs to foster strategic partnerships.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex and escalated issues related to supplier quality, delivery performance, and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure the integrity of procurement data within the ERP/MRP system, maintaining accurate records for purchase orders, supplier information, and pricing.
  • Guarantee that all procurement activities adhere strictly to international trade laws, customs regulations, tariffs, and corporate compliance policies.
  • Conduct in-depth spend analysis across assigned categories to identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, cost efficiencies, and improved sourcing leverage.
  • Lead or serve as a key member on cross-functional project teams aimed at enhancing supply chain and procurement processes organization-wide.
  • Assess and manage supplier capacity and capabilities to ensure they can scale to meet future demand and technological requirements.
  • Formulate and manage the global Request for Proposal (RFP), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Request for Information (RFI) processes, from creation to final supplier selection.

Secondary Functions

  • Champion and integrate corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability goals within the supply base, auditing suppliers for ethical compliance.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior members of the procurement team, sharing best practices in negotiation and strategic sourcing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of global procurement policies, standard operating procedures, and digital tools.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and business cases on procurement metrics, market intelligence, and project updates to senior leadership.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Strategic Sourcing & Category Management: Expertise in developing and implementing long-term sourcing plans for specific spend categories on a global scale.
  • Advanced Negotiation & Contract Management: Proven ability to negotiate complex, multi-faceted contracts and manage supplier agreements throughout their lifecycle.
  • ERP/MRP Systems Proficiency: Hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms for procurement functions.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
