Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Develop and execute a comprehensive global operations strategy that aligns with the company's overarching business goals, focusing on scalability, efficiency, and market responsiveness.
- Oversee and optimize the end-to-end global supply chain, including international sourcing, procurement, inventory management, and demand forecasting to ensure product availability while minimizing costs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of regional operations managers and specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous professional development across different time zones and cultures.
- Direct the financial performance of global operations, including the development and control of multi-million dollar budgets, managing P&L responsibilities, and driving initiatives for cost reduction and resource optimization.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) across all operational functions, using data-driven insights to identify trends, address performance gaps, and drive strategic decisions.
- Champion and implement continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and elevate quality standards across all global sites.
- Manage relationships with key third-party logistics (3PL) providers, contract manufacturers, and critical suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring their performance meets our stringent quality and delivery standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with all international trade regulations, customs laws, and local legal requirements in all countries of operation, actively managing operational risks.
- Drive the strategic planning and execution for new market entries and operational expansions, including site selection, facility setup, and initial team hiring.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership and heads of other departments (Sales, Finance, R&D, Marketing) to ensure operational plans are integrated and supportive of broader company initiatives.
- Spearhead the selection and implementation of new operational technologies, such as advanced ERP systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and data analytics platforms to modernize and streamline processes.
- Develop and maintain a robust global business continuity and disaster recovery plan to mitigate risks and ensure operational resilience in the face of geopolitical, economic, or environmental disruptions.
- Standardize operational procedures, policies, and best practices across all regions to create a cohesive and predictable global operating model while allowing for necessary local adaptations.
- Oversee global quality assurance and quality control programs to guarantee that all products and services consistently meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory standards.
