Primary Functions
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of outside services staff, including cart attendants and bag room personnel, to ensure the delivery of exceptional and consistent member and guest service.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for all new and existing outside services staff, covering guest interaction protocols, golf cart safety, and club standards.
- Manage the daily staging, rotation, and cleanliness of the entire golf cart fleet, conducting regular inspections for safety and functionality and coordinating necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Create and manage weekly staff schedules for all outside services personnel, optimizing coverage for daily play, tournaments, and events while adhering to labor budget guidelines.
- Oversee the bag drop area to create a seamless and welcoming arrival experience, ensuring staff proactively greet all members and guests, handle golf bags with care, and provide clear directions.
- Act as the first point of contact for any member or guest issues related to outside services, resolving complaints and concerns with professionalism and efficiency to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain the driving range and all practice facilities, ensuring a constant and adequate supply of clean range balls, proper tee setup, and an immaculately tidy appearance throughout the day.
- Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with the outside services team to communicate daily goals, review the tee sheet, highlight special events, and address specific member or guest needs.
- Enforce all club policies and procedures consistently and courteously, including dress code, pace of play, and proper golf cart usage rules.
- Collaborate closely with the Head Golf Professional and Tournament Coordinator on the flawless execution of all golf tournaments, corporate outings, and special club events.
- Manage and control inventory levels for all outside services supplies, including range balls, towels, tees, scorecards, and cleaning materials, and process purchase orders as required.
- Perform regular performance evaluations for outside services staff, providing constructive feedback, coaching, and identifying opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Ensure the accurate tracking and recording of golf cart rentals and other applicable service charges, communicating effectively with the pro shop for correct billing.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for key operational equipment, such as the range picker, ball washer, and club cleaning stations.
- Actively monitor the pace of play on the golf course, deploying player assistants or communicating with groups as necessary to maintain the desired flow and enhance the on-course experience.
- Champion a culture of safety among the team, ensuring all staff are thoroughly trained on and consistently adhere to safety protocols for equipment operation and general workplace conduct.
- Maintain meticulous and organized records of daily operations, including cart usage logs, incident reports, maintenance schedules, and staff attendance.
- Foster strong working relationships with other club departments, including the Pro Shop, Food & Beverage, and Grounds Maintenance, to ensure a cohesive and integrated member experience.
- Make a conscious effort to greet members and guests by name whenever possible, building rapport and fostering a welcoming, personalized, and private-club atmosphere.
- Take complete ownership of the overall presentation and cleanliness of all outdoor golf areas, including the bag drop, cart staging area, practice facilities, and surrounding walkways.
