Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Meticulously clean members' and guests' complete golf club sets upon completion of their round, ensuring they are returned in pristine, ready-to-play condition.
- Inspect clubs for any damage, such as loose ferrules, worn grips, or dents, during the cleaning process and promptly report any findings to the member and the Head Golf Professional.
- Expertly organize and manage the club cleaning station, ensuring all supplies like brushes, towels, cleaning solutions, and polishes are fully stocked and presentable.
- Safely and efficiently transport heavy golf bags from golf carts to the bag storage room, the member's vehicle, or designated drop-off points after the cleaning process.
- Maintain a detailed log or digital record of cleaned club sets, cross-referencing with member names or bag tag numbers for flawless tracking and retrieval.
- Provide a consistently warm, welcoming, and professional greeting to all members and guests as they approach the bag drop or finish their round of golf.
- Polish and detail golf club heads, shafts, and grips according to established club standards, using approved, high-quality cleaning agents and techniques.
- Manage the flow of golf bags at the conclusion of play and in the bag room, preventing congestion and ensuring a smooth, efficient experience for golfers.
- Diligently remove, clean, and properly store golf shoes for members, ensuring they are dry and ready for their next visit to the club.
- Proactively assist members and guests with loading and unloading their golf equipment from their vehicles, providing a high-touch, anticipatory service experience.
- Perform minor grip cleaning and conditioning to extend the functional life and improve the tactile feel of the club grips for members.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness for the entire bag drop area, club cleaning station, and surrounding vicinity, keeping it tidy and free of debris at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with the Pro Shop, Starters, and other outside services staff to anticipate member traffic and coordinate service delivery.
- Offer and perform additional services as directed, such as golf shoe spike replacement or minor equipment adjustments, contributing to a full-service environment.
- Proactively engage with members to build positive rapport, learn their names, and remember their specific preferences for club care, storage, and service.
Secondary Functions
- Support the staging, preparation, and maintenance of the golf cart fleet, including cleaning, charging, and stocking carts with scorecards, pencils, and sand divot mix.
- Assist with the daily setup and subsequent breakdown of the driving range, which includes collecting, washing, and stocking range balls for member use.
- Provide hands-on assistance during golf tournaments and corporate outings, which may involve special equipment handling, signage placement, and guest coordination.
- Monitor the pace of play on the course from key vantage points and report any delays or issues to the starter or course marshal as directed by club policy.
- Ensure the club bag storage room is impeccably organized, with all bags placed in their correct, designated spots for easy and quick retrieval upon member request.
- Respond to member and guest inquiries regarding the golf course, facilities, and daily playing conditions in a knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous manner.
- Perform general cleaning and light maintenance tasks around the clubhouse exterior, cart barn, and other operational areas as assigned by a supervisor.
