Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Execute precise mowing of greens, tees, and fairways using specialized walk-behind and riding mowers, ensuring consistent turf height and quality of cut.
Meticulously rake and smooth sand bunkers to maintain specified playing conditions, including edging and replenishing sand levels as needed.
Perform the daily course setup, which includes cutting new cup locations on greens, moving tee markers, and ensuring all on-course accessories are clean and in place.
Operate utility vehicles to transport tools, materials, and debris throughout the course safely and efficiently.
Conduct walk-mowing of putting greens, collars, and approaches to achieve the highest quality playing surfaces demanded by the game.
Assist in the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other turf care products under the supervision of a licensed applicator, ensuring proper rates and safety protocols.
Repair and fill divots on tees and fairways with a sand/seed mix to promote rapid turf recovery and maintain surface uniformity.
Operate string trimmers and edgers to maintain clean and defined lines around bunkers, cart paths, trees, and landscape beds.
Participate in turf cultivation programs, including core aeration, verticutting, and topdressing, to improve soil health and turfgrass density.
Perform hand watering of greens, tees, and other critical areas to supplement the irrigation system and manage localized dry spots.
Identify and report any turfgrass health issues, such as disease, insect damage, or irrigation problems, to a supervisor for prompt attention.
Maintain the cleanliness of the course by removing leaves, branches, trash, and other debris from all playing surfaces and common areas.

Secondary Functions

Assist in the maintenance and repair of the irrigation system, including fixing leaks, replacing sprinkler heads, and performing seasonal adjustments.
Operate various pieces of heavy and light equipment, such as tractors, loaders, and aerifiers, following comprehensive safety training.
Lay new sod and perform seeding in worn or damaged areas to establish new turf and ensure consistent ground cover.
Engage in landscape maintenance tasks, including planting, mulching, pruning, and weeding of ornamental beds and natural areas.
Maintain the integrity and appearance of cart paths, service roads, and bridges through cleaning, edging, and minor repairs.
Support small-scale construction or renovation projects on the course, such as rebuilding tees, reshaping bunkers, or installing drainage.
Perform routine cleaning, fueling, and preventative maintenance on equipment, such as checking fluid levels and cleaning air filters, to ensure operational readiness.
Contribute to a safe work environment by consistently following all company safety policies, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean maintenance facility.
