Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Develop and implement a proactive government relations strategy that aligns with organizational goals, prioritizes legislative and regulatory outcomes, and targets federal, state, and local policymakers and agencies.
  • Monitor, track, and analyze proposed and enacted legislation, rulemaking, and policy trends across relevant issue areas; produce timely briefings, issue summaries, and impact assessments for senior leadership.
  • Build, maintain, and expand sustained relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, regulatory agency personnel, and community leaders to advance policy objectives and secure favorable outcomes.
  • Create persuasive written materials — including position papers, legislative briefings, talking points, testimony, public comments, and regulatory submissions — that clearly articulate the organization’s policy positions.
  • Coordinate and prepare senior executives and subject-matter experts for meetings with policymakers, hearings, briefings, and public testimony, including detailed briefing books and Q&A preparation.
  • Lead targeted advocacy campaigns that combine direct lobbying, grassroots mobilization, coalition building, and earned media strategies to influence policy outcomes and public opinion.
  • Register and maintain accurate records under applicable lobbying and campaign finance laws; prepare and submit required filings, disclosures, and reports to ensure full compliance.

  • Track and evaluate campaign performance metrics, legislation status dashboards, and advocacy KPIs; prepare monthly and quarterly reports for executive leadership and the board.
  • Lead outreach to community groups, NGOs, labor unions, and constituency organizations to build grassroots support, mobilize advocates, and coordinate local advocacy events and town halls.
  • Draft and deliver impactful op-eds, letters to the editor, and targeted external communications that support policy objectives while coordinating with corporate communications and legal teams.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
