Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Operate and perform routine maintenance on large-format digital printers, flatbed printers, and vinyl plotters, ensuring consistent quality and color accuracy.
Manage print queues and prioritize jobs effectively using RIP software (such as Onyx, Caldera, or FlexiSIGN) to optimize workflow and material usage.
Execute pre-flight procedures on digital files, checking for correct dimensions, resolution, color profiles, and bleed to prevent costly production errors.
Handle a variety of substrates and media, including vinyl, banners, fabrics, and rigid materials like foam core and aluminum, loading and unloading them from equipment safely.
Perform meticulous vinyl weeding, which involves removing excess vinyl from cut graphics and lettering with precision tools.
Apply application tape (transfer tape) to weeded vinyl graphics in preparation for installation, ensuring a smooth, wrinkle-free finish.
Mount and laminate digital prints on various substrates, operating a roll or pressure laminator to provide protection and a desired finish (gloss, matte).
Trim final prints and graphics to specified dimensions using manual tools like safety rulers and blades, as well as automated cutters.
Assist with the assembly of finished signs and displays, which may involve installing hardware, grommets, or applying graphics to pre-fabricated structures.
Conduct thorough quality control checks at every stage of production, from the initial print to the final product, ensuring they meet company and client standards.
Prepare and package finished products securely for shipping, delivery, or client pickup, ensuring they are protected from damage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all safety protocols for equipment and chemical handling.
Assist with the physical installation of graphics and signage on various surfaces, including windows, walls, and vehicles, both in-house and occasionally on-site.
