Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the conceptualization and execution of creative design projects from initial brief to final delivery, ensuring all visual outputs align with strategic goals and brand standards.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive visual identity system and brand style guide, acting as the primary guardian to ensure brand consistency across all marketing channels and communications.
  • Lead and direct the creative process for major campaigns, including digital advertising, social media content, email marketing, website visuals, and print collateral.
  • Provide daily leadership, mentorship, and constructive art direction to a team of graphic designers, illustrators, and production artists, fostering a collaborative and innovative creative environment.
  • Translate marketing and business objectives into clear creative strategies, effectively communicating a compelling visual narrative that connects with the target audience.
  • Oversee the entire design lifecycle, managing project timelines, resource allocation, and workflows to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Marketing, Product, Sales, and Communications to ensure a cohesive and integrated brand experience.
  • Present and champion creative concepts and design solutions to senior leadership and key stakeholders, clearly articulating the strategic thinking behind visual decisions.
  • Direct and manage photo and video shoots, including a-selection of photographers/videographers, talent, location scouting, and overseeing post-production editing.
  • Stay at the forefront of design trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies to inspire the team and introduce innovative visual approaches.
  • Personally design and execute high-priority or complex projects that require a senior level of design expertise and conceptual thinking.
  • Review and approve all creative work from the design team, providing specific and actionable feedback to elevate the quality and effectiveness of the final product.
  • Establish and refine creative workflows and processes to improve efficiency, collaboration, and the overall output of the creative department.
  • Manage the visual asset library, ensuring all files are organized, accessible, and properly archived for future use.
  • Articulate and defend design choices, using a strong understanding of user-centered design principles and business goals to justify creative direction.
  • Conduct regular creative reviews and brainstorming sessions to generate fresh ideas and maintain a high standard of creative energy within the team.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • A sophisticated understanding of core design principles, including typography, color theory, composition, and layout across both digital and print media.
  • Proven experience in directing photo and video shoots, from concept and storyboarding through to post-production and final delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of digital design standards, including best practices for web, mobile, social media, and email marketing visuals.
  • Competency with UI/UX design principles and familiarity with prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
  • A deep understanding of print production processes, materials, and techniques to effectively manage the creation of physical collateral.
