Primary Functions
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of greenhouse staff, including growers and general laborers, ensuring high standards of performance and productivity.

- Ensure all greenhouse operations comply with company policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations, particularly concerning worker safety (WPS) and environmental protection.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of crop activities, including planting dates, pesticide applications, growth metrics, and harvest yields.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on greenhouse equipment and structures, such as irrigation lines, fans, vents, and control systems, to minimize downtime.
- Manage inventory of essential supplies, including growing media, fertilizers, pesticides, containers, and tools, and coordinate procurement to prevent shortages.
- Enforce strict sanitation and hygiene protocols within the greenhouse to prevent the introduction and spread of plant pathogens.
- Collaborate with the Head Grower or Greenhouse Manager on crop scheduling and production planning to meet sales forecasts and market demands.
- Lead daily team meetings to communicate objectives, provide feedback, and address any operational challenges or safety concerns.
- Perform quality control inspections on finished plant material to ensure it meets size, color, and health specifications prior to shipping.
- Train employees on the proper and safe operation of all greenhouse machinery and equipment, including tractors, forklifts, and sprayers.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all greenhouse tasks.
- Monitor labor efficiency and operational costs, identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Prepare and submit regular production reports, activity logs, and incident reports to senior management.
- Champion a culture of safety, leading by example and ensuring all staff are equipped with and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Evaluate new cultivars and growing techniques through small-scale trials to contribute to innovation and improved crop performance.
