Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Receive and unload merchandise from delivery trucks, using equipment like pallet jacks and hand trucks to move stock from the receiving area to the sales floor.
Break down pallets and sort merchandise by department and aisle location, ensuring an organized and efficient workflow to facilitate stocking.
Efficiently and accurately stock grocery, dairy, and frozen products onto shelves, endcaps, and displays according to store standards and planograms.
Diligently implement the "First In, First Out" (FIFO) rotation method for all products, especially perishable items, to ensure product freshness and minimize spoilage.
Perform detailed "facing" duties by pulling all products to the front of the shelf to create a full, neat, and visually appealing shopping experience for customers.
Verify product pricing and ensure that all items are matched with the correct shelf tags and signage; report any discrepancies to the overnight supervisor for correction.
Identify and remove any damaged, expired, or out-of-code products from the shelves and properly record them according to company waste and reclamation procedures.
Handle and condition backstock, organizing it neatly in the designated storage areas to ensure it is easily accessible for future stocking needs and to maintain inventory accuracy.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the sales floor aisles, backroom, and receiving areas, by consistently clearing away cardboard and other debris.
Safely operate and maintain stocking equipment, such as pallet jacks, U-boats, and stocking carts, adhering to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Build and assemble promotional displays and endcaps for upcoming sales events and weekly ad changes, following corporate merchandising plans.
