Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Act as the single point of contact on the ramp for the flight crew, cabin crew, and all ground handling personnel, ensuring seamless and clear communication channels.
- Oversee and coordinate the entire aircraft turnaround process, including marshaling, fueling, catering, cabin cleaning, cargo/baggage loading and unloading, and passenger boarding.
- Meticulously prepare, verify, and sign the final load sheet, taking full responsibility for the aircraft's weight and balance calculations to ensure it is within all legal and safety limits.
- Proactively manage the turnaround timeline against the schedule, identifying potential delays and implementing immediate corrective actions to protect on-time performance.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-arrival ramp inspections to ensure the aircraft stand is free of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and properly set up with all required Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
- Lead pre-turnaround briefings with the entire ground crew, outlining the specific operational requirements, loading instructions, and any special handling needs for the flight.
- Ensure the safe and correct positioning of all ground support equipment around the aircraft, maintaining designated safety zones and preventing any risk of damage.
- Perform a final walk-around inspection of the aircraft just prior to departure, visually checking for any abnormalities, ensuring all doors and panels are secure, and all ground equipment is clear.
- Authorize and supervise the aircraft pushback or power-out sequence, providing clear communication and visual signals to the flight deck and tug operator.
- Enforce strict compliance with all company, airport, and international (IATA/ICAO) regulations for safety, security, and ground handling procedures.
- Manage and document any operational irregularities, incidents, or accidents that occur on the ramp, providing detailed reports to the station management and safety department.
- Coordinate with de-icing/anti-icing teams during winter operations, ensuring the procedure is performed correctly and documented according to established protocols.
- Verify that all required services have been delivered to the aircraft as requested, including potable water servicing, lavatory drainage, and specific catering uplifts.
- Maintain constant communication with the Operations Control Center (OCC), providing real-time updates on the turnaround status and receiving any last-minute instructions or changes.
- Champion a robust safety culture on the ramp, actively promoting safe work practices, conducting safety observations, and stopping any unsafe act immediately.

- Aviation Regulations: Deep knowledge of IATA Ground Operations Manual (IGOM), FAA/EASA regulations, and airport-specific operational procedures.
