Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Direct and oversee all aspects of grounds maintenance, including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, planting, and fertilization, to ensure the highest standards of aesthetic appeal and horticultural health.
Develop and implement comprehensive landscape management programs, including integrated pest management (IPM), turf care schedules, and seasonal planting designs.
Manage the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation of all groundskeeping staff, fostering a culture of safety, productivity, and teamwork.
Create and manage the annual grounds department budget, including forecasting expenses for labor, equipment, materials, and contractor services.

Plan, coordinate, and manage seasonal grounds activities, such as spring cleanup, fall leaf removal, and comprehensive snow and ice removal operations.

Experience Requirements

Preferred:

Experience managing grounds for a large-scale campus, luxury resort, municipality, or high-end commercial property.
Certified Arborist, Certified Landscape Professional (CLP), or similar industry certifications are highly desirable.
Demonstrable experience managing a budget in excess of $500,000.
