Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Spearhead the consolidation and preparation of the comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual Group management reporting packages, encompassing P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow analysis for executive and board-level review.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis of actual financial results against budget, prior year, and forecasts, providing detailed commentary on key drivers, trends, and performance deviations.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models to support long-range planning, scenario analysis, M&A activity, and other strategic corporate initiatives.
  • Play an integral role in the coordination and execution of the annual budgeting and rolling quarterly forecasting cycles, collaborating with divisional leaders to ensure accuracy, challenge assumptions, and align with strategic targets.
  • Analyze and interpret large, complex datasets from disparate sources to identify significant business trends, performance indicators, and potential risks or opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and dashboards that clearly communicate financial and operational performance, key insights, and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a key business partner to divisional finance and operational teams, providing analytical support and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics across all business units, establishing benchmarks and tracking progress against corporate goals.
  • Support the evaluation of potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures by performing financial due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration planning.
  • Continuously seek to improve and automate reporting, forecasting, and data collection processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the value of analytical outputs.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses into specific areas of the business, such as customer profitability, product line performance, or regional market trends, to provide granular insights.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the group's financial and operational data by establishing and maintaining robust validation processes and controls.
  • Conduct comprehensive competitor analysis and market research to contextualize the company's performance and identify emerging industry trends.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for external reporting requirements, including investor relations presentations and analyst calls.
  • Partner with the IT and BI teams to define requirements for new data systems, reporting tools, and analytical platforms to enhance the group's capabilities.
  • Translate strategic objectives into measurable financial and operational targets, and track the progress of key initiatives against these goals.
  • Provide analytical support for capital expenditure requests and other investment decisions, building robust business cases to justify resource allocation.
  • Manage the consolidation of financial data from various international subsidiaries, accounting for currency fluctuations and intercompany transactions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional projects aimed at improving profitability, operational efficiency, and overall business performance.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for group performance metrics, providing clarity and context for ad-hoc queries from across the business.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Advanced Financial Modeling: Expert-level ability to build and maintain complex, three-statement financial models from scratch for forecasting, valuation, and what-if scenario analysis.
  • Data Visualization: Proficiency in creating clear and impactful dashboards and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Excel Proficiency: Mastery of Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas (INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS), Power Query, macros, and data modeling.
  • ERP & FP&A Systems: Hands-on experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial planning software (e.g., Anaplan, Hyperion, Workday Adaptive Planning).
  • Database Querying: Strong knowledge of SQL for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data directly from relational databases.
  • Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of core accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) to ensure the integrity of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Presentation Software: Skill in using PowerPoint or Google Slides to build compelling, data-driven narratives for an executive audience.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience Requirements
