As a Growth Analyst Assistant, you are the detective of our data landscape. You'll work at the intersection of marketing, product, and data science to help us understand our customers and how to acquire and retain them more effectively. Your primary mission is to support the Growth team by transforming raw data into actionable intelligence. You will be responsible for tracking key metrics, analyzing the performance of growth initiatives, and assisting in the design of experiments (A/B tests) that drive continuous improvement across the user lifecycle. Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Analyze user acquisition channels, including paid search, social media, and organic traffic, to evaluate performance and provide recommendations for budget optimization.
  • Support the end-to-end process of A/B and multivariate testing, from hypothesis generation and experimental design to results analysis and communication of findings.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business health.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses into user behavior and segmentation to uncover patterns, identify high-value customer cohorts, and inform personalization strategies.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and aggregate complex datasets from our data warehouse for analysis and reporting purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Growth Marketing team to provide data-driven insights that inform campaign strategy, audience targeting, and creative messaging.
  • Monitor and report on the performance of the entire customer funnel, from awareness and acquisition to activation, retention, and monetization.
  • Create detailed post-campaign analysis reports that summarize performance, highlight key learnings, and present actionable recommendations for future initiatives.
  • Investigate and diagnose unexpected fluctuations or anomalies in data to identify root causes, whether they stem from market shifts, user behavior changes, or technical issues.
  • Assist in building and refining models to forecast user growth, customer lifetime value (LTV), and churn, providing critical inputs for strategic planning.
  • Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for non-technical stakeholders through presentations and written summaries.
  • Perform competitive analysis and market research to benchmark our performance and identify emerging trends, new channels, and untapped growth opportunities.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to validate data integrity and ensure proper event tracking and instrumentation for new features and marketing campaigns.

Secondary Functions

  • Support ad-hoc data requests and exploratory data analysis from various teams across the organization.
  • Contribute to the organization's data strategy and roadmap by helping to define and document key metrics and business logic.
  • Collaborate with business units to translate data needs into clear technical requirements for the data engineering team.
  • Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies within the data and growth teams to ensure alignment and efficient execution.
  • Help maintain a central repository of documentation for data sources, metric definitions, and analytical methodologies.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of CRM initiatives, such as email and push notification campaigns, to improve customer engagement and retention.
  • Evaluate new analytics tools and technologies that could enhance the team's efficiency and analytical capabilities.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to write complex queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake).
  • Data Visualization: Hands-on experience creating insightful dashboards and reports with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Spreadsheets: Mastery of Excel or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling for quick analysis.
  • Web & Product Analytics: Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Amplitude, or Mixpanel to track user behavior.
  • Statistical Knowledge: Solid understanding of fundamental statistical concepts, experimental design, and A/B testing methodologies.
  • Scripting (Preferred): Basic knowledge of a scripting language like Python (with Pandas) or R for data cleaning and analysis is a significant plus.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant quantitative or business-oriented field.

Relevant Fields of Study:

  • Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics
  • Business Analytics, Marketing, Finance, or a related field with a strong quantitative focus.

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a data analysis, business intelligence, or marketing analytics role. Relevant internships, co-ops, or significant academic projects are highly valued.

Preferred:

  • Experience working within a growth, marketing, or product team at a tech or e-commerce company.
