Primary Functions

- Apply a diverse range of metal finishing processes, including bead blasting, polishing, chemical bluing, Parkerizing, and Cerakote application, to provide corrosion resistance and achieve specific aesthetic outcomes.
- Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments on malfunctioning firearms to accurately identify the root cause of mechanical issues, wear, or breakage and develop an effective repair plan.
- Perform function checks and live-fire testing of newly built, customized, or repaired firearms in a designated test facility to verify safety, reliability, and accuracy.
- Machine and thread barrels for the precise installation of muzzles, suppressors, and other muzzle devices, ensuring proper concentricity and alignment.
- Fabricate one-off custom parts and accessories from scratch, using creativity and problem-solving skills to meet unique customer requirements or to prototype new designs.
- Install, bed, and pillar rifle stocks to create a stable, stress-free platform that significantly enhances the firearm's potential for accuracy.
- Calibrate and zero sights, scopes, and advanced optical systems, ensuring they are correctly mounted and aligned with the bore for first-round accuracy.
- Maintain and repair shop machinery and gunsmithing tools, performing routine preventative maintenance to ensure they operate safely and accurately.
- Carefully document all work performed on build sheets, work orders, and digital logs, maintaining meticulous records for quality control and traceability.

- Perform advanced modifications such as checkering, serrating, and stippling on wood and metal surfaces to improve grip and enhance the firearm's ergonomics and appearance.
- Select appropriate materials, such as specific steel alloys or polymers, based on the application's requirements for strength, durability, and weight.
- Collaborate directly with design engineers and R&D teams to provide valuable feedback on manufacturability and potential improvements for new product designs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex assembly or component-fitting challenges on the production line, acting as a subject matter expert for other technicians.
