  • Manage appointment scheduling and time efficiently to meet service windows while accommodating walk-ins and last-minute booking changes; update client records with service details and product preferences.
  • Educate clients on proper at-home hair care, styling techniques, and product application; recommend salon retail products and tools tailored to hair type and styling goals to increase retention and retail sales.
  • Sanitize and maintain tools and workstations to adhere to state licensing board regulations and salon health and safety protocols, including sterilization of combs, scissors, clippers, capes and surfaces between clients.
  • Provide beard trimming, shaping, and neckline services where applicable; coordinate with clients on facial hair maintenance that complements their haircut and personal style.
  • Assess and perform basic chemical services in coordination with colorists (where licensed and trained), including pre-cut chemical relaxers, smoothing treatments, and post-chemical haircut corrections to ensure hair integrity.
  • Build long-term client relationships by delivering consistent quality, follow-up communication, appointment reminders and personalized service notes to foster loyalty and repeat business.
