Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Lead the end-to-end definition of the hardware system architecture, translating high-level product requirements into detailed technical specifications and design documents.
  • Conduct comprehensive trade-off analyses across performance, power, thermal constraints, cost, and physical form-factor to optimize the system design.
  • Drive the selection of critical system components, including SoCs, CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, memory subsystems, and power management ICs (PMICs), by evaluating vendor roadmaps and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and maintain detailed architectural documentation, including system block diagrams, interconnect topologies, and interface control documents (ICDs) to guide cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Collaborate intimately with Silicon, Software, Firmware, Mechanical Engineering, and Product Management teams to ensure a cohesive, fully integrated, and optimized product design.
  • Create and champion the long-term hardware technology roadmap, identifying and investigating next-generation technologies to maintain a sustained competitive advantage.
  • Architect and define high-speed interfaces and protocols (such as PCIe, CXL, DDR5, Ethernet)توى ensure robust system performance and interoperability.
  • Perform system-level performance and power modeling and analysis to establish and validate PPA (Power, Performance, Area/Cost) targets early in the design cycle.

  • Participate in and provide architectural input for DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) reviews to ensure product viability at scale.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Deep expertise in SoC/ASIC/FPGA architecture and a strong understanding of the silicon design lifecycle.

  • Extensive experience with high-speed interface design and signal integrity (SI) principles, including PCIe, CXL, DDR, and multi-gigabit SerDes.

  • Understanding of PCB design principles, layer stack-up, and manufacturing constraints.

Education & Experience

Educational Background

Minimum Education:

Experience Requirements

Typical Experience Range: 12-18+ years of progressive experience in hardware engineering, with a significant portion spent in a system-level design or architecture role.

Preferred: A proven track record of architecting and successfully shipping multiple complex hardware products from concept to high-volume production. Experience in a lead or principal engineering capacity is highly desirable.
