- Set up, calibrate, and perform daily routine maintenance on sewing and embroidery machines, including cleaning, oiling, and changing needles to ensure optimal performance.
- Skillfully hoop and prepare a diverse range of hat styles—from structured baseball caps and unstructured dad hats to beanies and bucket hats—for embroidery, ensuring correct placement and tension.
- Select the appropriate thread types, colors, needle sizes, and backing materials based on the specific fabric (e.g., wool, cotton twill, polyester, mesh) and design complexity.
- Perform continuous in-process quality control checks to identify, troubleshoot, and correct stitching defects, puckering, or other imperfections as they occur.
- Assemble hat components in the correct sequence, including joining panels, attaching bills/visors, sewing in sweatbands, and closing the back of the cap.
- Maintain a consistent and efficient production pace to meet daily and weekly output targets and deadlines without sacrificing quality standards.
- Trim excess threads, backing, and material from finished products using trimmers, scissors, or heat guns to present a clean and professional final appearance.
- Accurately attach labels, tags, and other finishing components according to brand guidelines and placement instructions.
- Troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions, such as thread breaks, needle breaks, or tension issues, and resolve them quickly to minimize production downtime.
