Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Conduct in-depth, one-on-one consultations with clients to understand their unique health history, wellness goals, and specific concerns.
- Develop personalized herbal protocols, recommending specific herbs, supplements, teas, and tinctures to support individual health objectives.
- Educate clients on the proper use, dosage, potential benefits, and contraindications of herbal products and dietary supplements.
- Provide guidance on integrating herbal remedies with diet, nutrition, and lifestyle modifications to create a comprehensive, holistic wellness plan.
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records, documenting consultations, recommendations, and follow-up communications in accordance with privacy standards.
- Build and nurture long-term, trusting relationships with a diverse clientele, providing ongoing support and adjusting protocols as their needs evolve.
- Stay current with the latest scientific research, clinical studies, and industry trends in herbal medicine, phytotherapy, and nutritional science.
- Ensure all recommendations and customer interactions are in compliance with industry regulations and company ethical guidelines.
- Answer complex customer questions with clarity and expertise, both in-person and through digital communication channels (email, phone).
- Assess for potential herb-drug-nutrient interactions and advise clients to consult with their primary healthcare provider when necessary.
- Create custom herbal formulations, such as tea blends or tinctures, based on specific client needs and practitioner expertise.
- Provide an exceptional, empathetic, and non-judgmental customer service experience that aligns with the company's holistic values.
Secondary Functions
- Assist in managing and merchandising the herbal and supplement sections, ensuring products are well-stocked, organized, and attractively displayed.
- Monitor inventory levels for herbal products, assist with ordering from suppliers, and ensure the quality and freshness of all stock.
- Develop and lead educational workshops, classes, and community events on topics such as "Herbalism for Beginners," "Stress Support with Adaptogens," or "Natural Cold & Flu Care."
- Contribute to the creation of educational content for the company's blog, social media channels, and newsletters to engage and inform a wider audience.
- Train new team members and provide ongoing product knowledge education to colleagues to ensure a high level of expertise across the store.
- Research and evaluate new products and suppliers, providing recommendations to the purchasing team based on quality, efficacy, and brand ethos.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote the benefits of herbal medicine and build partnerships with other local wellness practitioners.
- Uphold the operational standards of the retail environment, including opening/closing procedures and maintaining a clean and welcoming space.

Educational Background
Minimum Education:

- Registered Herbalist (RH) designation from the American Herbalists Guild (AHG) is highly regarded.
