Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Conduct comprehensive, in-depth nutritional assessments that evaluate a client’s health history, dietary intake, lifestyle, emotional state, and environmental factors.

  • Recommend, interpret, and utilize advanced functional laboratory testing (e.g., stool analysis, hormone panels, micronutrient testing) to inform and refine personalized wellness protocols.
  • Educate clients on the therapeutic use of whole foods, dietary supplements, and botanicals, ensuring safe and effective integration with their overall health plan and collaborating with their medical team.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare practitioners, including physicians, naturopaths, acupuncturists, and therapists, to provide cohesive, patient-centered care.
  • Maintain meticulous, accurate, and confidential client records, including detailed assessment data, intervention plans, and progress notes, using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Stay current with the latest scientific research, clinical studies, and emerging trends in the fields of holistic, functional, and integrative nutrition to ensure evidence-based practice.
  • Assess and closely monitor client progress towards their health goals, making strategic adjustments to their nutrition and lifestyle plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Provide expert guidance on mindful eating practices, stress management techniques, sleep hygiene, and other lifestyle factors that profoundly impact nutritional status and overall well-being.
  • Develop specialized nutrition protocols for clients with complex chronic conditions, such as autoimmune diseases, digestive disorders (IBS, SIBO), and metabolic syndrome.
  • Perform detailed analysis of food and symptom journals and nutrient intake data to identify patterns, deficiencies, and opportunities for dietary optimization.
  • Counsel clients on navigating complex dietary restrictions, food allergies, and sensitivities while maintaining a nutrient-dense, diverse, and enjoyable diet.
