Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Execute the end-to-end installation of residential technology systems, including smart home automation, security and alarm systems, home theater audio/video, and networking hardware, ensuring all components are configured for optimal performance.
- Skillfully and safely route low-voltage wiring and data cables through walls, attics, crawl spaces, and conduits, adhering strictly to national and local building codes for a clean, secure, and professional finish.
- Conduct comprehensive, consultative walk-throughs with homeowners to evaluate the installation environment, understand their specific needs, and provide expert recommendations on optimal equipment placement and system capabilities.
- Mount and secure a variety of hardware, such as televisions, speakers, security cameras, and control panels, on diverse surfaces including drywall, brick, and wood, using appropriate tools and mounting techniques to ensure stability and safety.
- Perform thorough system testing and quality assurance checks post-installation to verify that all hardware and software components are functioning correctly and communicating seamlessly with each other.
- Provide clear, patient, and comprehensive on-site education and demonstrations to customers, ensuring they are comfortable and proficient in using their new system's features and functionalities.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues or service problems with existing installations, utilizing systematic testing procedures to identify root causes and implement effective, lasting solutions.
- Interpret and follow detailed work orders, technical schematics, blueprints, and installation manuals to ensure each project is completed accurately and according to specific project requirements.
- Maintain a meticulously safe, clean, and organized work area within the customer's home, protecting their property from damage and leaving the space in better condition than upon arrival.
- Establish and configure robust home networks, including routers, switches, modems, and mesh Wi-Fi systems, to ensure reliable connectivity for all installed devices.
- Uphold a superior standard of customer service throughout every interaction, actively listening to client concerns, managing expectations, and building positive, lasting relationships.
- Manage on-site project timelines efficiently, coordinating with dispatch and other team members to ensure installations are completed on schedule and within the allocated time frame.
- Adhere to all company and industry safety standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ladders, and power tools to prevent injury and property damage.
