Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

  • Professionally install, program, and perform service on a diverse range of residential security and smart home automation systems, ensuring all components like control panels, motion sensors, door/window contacts, and communication modules function correctly.
  • Execute the complete installation and configuration of advanced CCTV and IP video surveillance systems, including mounting cameras, running cabling, and setting up NVRs/DVRs for optimal recording and remote viewing.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and expertly resolve complex technical issues and malfunctions in existing security systems through systematic testing and analysis, minimizing customer downtime.
  • Provide comprehensive, user-friendly training and education to homeowners on the proper use, features, and maintenance of their new security and smart home system, ensuring a high level of customer confidence and satisfaction.
  • Skillfully run and conceal low-voltage wiring through walls, attics, and crawl spaces according to industry best practices and local building codes, maintaining the aesthetic integrity of the customer's home.
  • Integrate and configure various smart home devices, such as smart locks, thermostats, lighting controls, and voice assistants, into the central security ecosystem.
  • Conduct thorough post-installation system testing and signal verification to ensure all components are communicating correctly with the central monitoring station.
  • Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and system design layouts to determine the optimal placement of security components and wiring paths.
  • Deliver an exceptional customer service experience from arrival to departure, actively listening to customer needs and addressing any concerns with patience and professionalism.
  • Independently manage daily schedules and travel routes to ensure on-time arrival for all appointments and maximize productivity throughout the workday.
  • Meticulously manage and maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, parts, and tools in a company-provided vehicle to ensure readiness for all scheduled and emergency service calls.
  • Accurately complete and submit all necessary installation and service documentation, including work orders, system configuration reports, and customer sign-offs, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Strictly adhere to all company and industry safety standards and protocols, including proper use of ladders, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE) on every job site.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, fish tapes, multimeters, and wire strippers, to complete installations efficiently and effectively.
  • Comfortably perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces like attics and crawlspaces.

Required Skills & Competencies

Hard Skills (Technical)

  • Low-Voltage Wiring: Proficient in running, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cables for alarms, cameras, and data.
  • Alarm Panel Programming: Experience with programming and configuring major alarm panels (e.g., Honeywell/Resideo, DSC, Qolsys, 2GIG).
  • IP Networking: Basic understanding of IP addresses, routers, and Wi-Fi network configuration for connecting cameras and systems to the internet.
  • Video Surveillance (CCTV/IP): Knowledge of installing, aiming, and configuring analog and IP security cameras and NVR/DVR systems.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment like multimeters.

Educational Background

Minimum Education:
