Core Responsibilities
Primary Functions
- Accurately assemble various components to construct basketball hoops and related systems, following detailed blueprints, work orders, and schematic diagrams to ensure product integrity.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic equipment, such as drills, impact wrenches, rivet guns, and torque wrenches, with precision and strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Perform sequential assembly of complex systems, including backboards, rims, poles, and height adjustment mechanisms, ensuring all parts are fitted, aligned, and secured according to engineering specifications.
- Conduct rigorous in-process and final quality inspections on sub-assemblies and completed units, performing functional tests to verify they meet strict quality standards and operational requirements.
- Maintain a consistent and efficient pace of work to meet or exceed established daily and weekly production targets, contributing to the team's overall output goals.
- Actively monitor the supply of parts and materials at your workstation, communicating shortages to the Line Lead or Material Handler to prevent production delays.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe and hazard-free work environment for yourself and your team.
- Keep the immediate work area clean, organized, and orderly by following 5S principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) to promote efficiency and safety.
- Identify, document, and report any product defects, assembly issues, or non-conforming parts to the supervisor or Quality Control department for immediate resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, engineers, and supervisors to troubleshoot assembly problems and contribute to finding effective, long-term solutions.
- Safely operate material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or carts, to move raw materials and finished products within the assembly area.
- Prepare and package fully assembled products for shipment, ensuring they are properly protected, labeled, and conform to packaging specifications.
- Rotate through different workstations and assembly tasks as required by production schedules, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn multiple aspects of the build process.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on assembly tools and equipment, cleaning them regularly and reporting any malfunctions for repair.
- Accurately complete production-related paperwork and enter data into the manufacturing execution system (MES) to track progress, labor hours, and material usage.
- Participate actively in team meetings to discuss production goals, safety topics, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new assemblers, sharing knowledge of standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and quality expectations.
- Carefully manage and account for all tools and equipment assigned to the workstation to prevent loss and ensure operational readiness.
- Read and understand measurement devices like tape measures and calipers to verify component dimensions meet specifications.
- Consistently lift, carry, and maneuver components and assemblies, which may weigh up to 50 pounds, either individually or with team assistance.
Secondary Functions

- Assist with inventory counts and material handling tasks, including stocking workstations and transporting finished goods to the packaging area as needed.
