Core Responsibilities

Primary Functions

Conduct comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance on critical hospital HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and exhaust fans, to ensure optimal air quality and climate control in patient care areas.
Perform detailed inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on essential plumbing and steam systems, addressing issues with medical-grade fixtures, drains, water heaters, and sterilizers to prevent disruptions and maintain sanitary conditions.
Respond promptly to and diagnose malfunctions in the hospital's electrical distribution systems, including lighting, receptacles, motor controls, and emergency power systems, ensuring a constant and safe power supply.
Maintain and test life-safety systems, such as fire alarm panels, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and fire doors, meticulously documenting all inspections to ensure full compliance with NFPA and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
Troubleshoot and repair the pneumatic tube transport system, a critical component for the rapid delivery of lab specimens, medications, and documents throughout the hospital.
Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on patient-centric equipment, including electric hospital beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, and patient lifts, to guarantee patient safety and functionality.
